Our mission
Fresh food, served with love and respect
Northwest SHARE operates two free food trucks in Seattle and has distributed over 240,000 plates of fresh food since 2018. Our mission focuses on supporting people experiencing food insecurity in our community.
We serve fresh, nutrient-dense food: a balanced meal with proteins, carbohydrates and vitamin-rich fresh vegetables. It is completely free, and we don’t ask people to do anything or pay anything to get a freshly cooked vegetarian or vegan meal. We serve with love and respect, and without any personal motive other than to help people.
Before the trucks, our volunteers ran My Sweet Lord, a free vegetarian café, from 2002 until April 2015; the food truck pilot began in April 2018.
Our food trucks are certified by Washington State L&I and King County Health.

Help keep the trucks running
Running our two food trucks costs about $150,000 a year, and we are working to grow. Your support keeps this program running and expands its reach. Volunteers cook, pack and serve.
